A Japanese Bronze Figure of a Second World War Soldier, standing holding a rifle to his right side, his left foot resting on a stone, on a stone built mound set with a panel incised with Japanese characters, the reverse with a further inscribed panel and with a signature tablet, 39.5cmBayonet missing from the rifle, crack to his right wrist. There is some seperation of the rifle butt from the rocky base. There is a small air hole behind his right knee and the dagger hanging from his back left waist belt is missing the lower section.

After Eduard Drouot (1859-1945), 'La Nuit' and 'L'Aube', a pair of large bronze allegorical figures'La Nuit' (night) modelled as a maiden in scant robes floating within a crescent moon above a star-scattered domed base, 90cm high, 'L'Aube' (daybreak) modelled as a maiden in flowing diaphanous robes with her arms raised, standing atop a globe encircled by waves, 109cm high, each set on a square base with title plaque and signed 'Drouot'. (2)Footnote: For an identical example of 'La Nuit' see Sotherby's Woollahra, Sydney, rooms, 29 August 2006, lot 307. 'L'Aube' has also been titled 'La Desse de la Terre', Goddess of the Earth, and an example can be found at Conan's Lyon rooms, 15 November 2014, lot 63.Both in generally good condition.  Patina is broadly very dark brown with patches of chocolate brown.  No damage or repairs.  Minor cosmetic marks.  Very fine lines around right arm casting join.

After Giambologna, a pair of bronzes of Hermes and Fortuna, circa 1900, issuing from masks, the cylindrical bronze and slate bases with relief moulded putti, raised on shaped bases, damaged, 84cm high (2)Hermes - thumb bent and lacking caduceus in right hand.Fortuna- metal rod in a very poor state and base dismantled as a result, lacking that which held in right hand.Both with chipped slate very faded. Decorator's paint splatters.

After Francisque Joseph Duret (1804-1865) a bronze figure of a 'Neapolitan Dancer'Modelled as a male figure in loose shorts, he plays a tambourine while dancing, set on a circular base, signed, 43cm high.Good colour patina throughout.  Very minor signs of age.
