An Ormolu and White Marble Striking Mantel Clock, signed Furon & Ledemande, Caen, late 19th/ early 20th century, case surmounted by a bronze ormolu winged cherub with its arms out over a bird perching on a bird cage, oval white marble base with a beaded border, 4-1/4-inch enamel dial with Arabic numerals, twin barrel movement with outside countwheel striking on a bell, movement backplate stamped with maker's mark OC and numbered 4838 64, 36.5cm high see illustration 15.10.18, Ormolu surfaces are slightly rubbed and discoloured in parts, base with small chips, dial with one minor crack above 12 and minor scratches in parts, movement mainsprings are fully wound, movement is complete, original pendulum bob numbered 4838.

A WWII Japanese officer's Gunto katana, the blade 68cm long with bronze tsuba and copper habaki, brown tuska ito and same fish skin tsuka with floral menuki, lacquered saya with bronze mounts and attached bead sageo of green hardstone, pearl, yellow metal and wood, kashira with floral decoration, calligraphy signatures to the tang, with a leather case CONDITION REPORT: Blade tarnished and the Ha (blade edge) shows a few little nicks (see images). Copper showing through the habaki. Small dent to the fuchi. Menuki surface to one side appears corroded. The Saya's surface is worn in sections, more so towards the top section, with the lacquer deteriorating. The saya appears slightly misshapen/dented to the tip. See further images. Leather case extensively worn.

A 19th Century bronze cannon in approximately 3.2" bore (4-6lb) The swelled muzzle tapering to astragal and fillets and to two reinforcement rings. A rectangular plate above the touchhole joining a branded base ring "J.J. WOLFF MAKERS SOUTHAMPTON" and to a knob and ring. Measures approximately 5' 4" including knob with bronze muzzle cover, Blomfield type (1832-). Originally thought to have have had a percussion lock fitted, as a ship aft / bow chaser.

A bronze ships crest from HMS AMETHYST, a WWII Royal Navy warship, famously involved in the "Amethyst Incident" during the Chinese Civil War. The warship was on the Yangtze River, when she came under Chinese fire and left stranded, suffering casualties. Later, under the command of Lieut-Commander John Simon Kerans, Amethyst weighed anchor and began her epic 104 mile dash for the open sea. The story immortalised in the epic 1957 film the Yangtze Incident starring Richard Todd
