Colin George - A 'Farman Cars' Icarus Mascot as retailed by Finnigan's of Bond Street, London, but crafted in Paris in the mid-1920s. With very good detail, numbered 5295, and signed by the artist and the impressed foundry Socle of Contenot-Lelievre. Nickel-plated on bronze, inscribed Finnigans - London at the front of the hollow base. 6-inches (15cm) high
Casimir Brau Leaping Lion Mascot One of the popular set of Casimir Brau-designed leaping animal mascots offered in the 1920s and early 1930s. Nickel-plated on bronze, finish understandably a little worn, signed 'C. Brau' on the top of the base, stamped 'Depose' on the edge of the base. 8-inches (20cm) long. Not mounted.
Telcote Pup 'Bonzo' A mascot depicting the cartoon character by Augustine & Emile Lejeune, a hollow-cast bronze body with diamond cut red glass eyes, 'Bonzo' stamped on the side, and 'Telcote Pup' impressed in his collar and 'AEL Copyright' at the rear. This mascot of the mid-1920s was inspired by a French Bulldog, a comic book character created by the illustrator George E. Studdy which he named 'Bonzo'. A French design, English manufacture. The larger of two sizes available in the 1920s, 5½-inches (14cm) long, not mounted.
