*Oscar Nemon (1906-1985) plaster maquette of Sir Winston Churchill reclining on a bench 26 cm high.The full size bronze is on Westerham Green, near Chartwell and was un-veiled in 1969. Provenance: Mrs Karin Churchill ( 1930-2018) who was Oscar Nemon's assistant from 1979 until his death in 1985 thence by descent. Lady Clementine Churchill particularly liked this sculpture of her husband saying' This is how I see him and this is how I love him'.
Karin Churchill (1930-2018), bronze resin sculpture of Sir Winston Churchill in Garter robes signed with monogram, 38.5cm high excluding turned plinth and with fitted wooden carrying case. Provenance: By direct descent of the artist. This sculpture of Sir Winston was much admired by Lady Churchill, by Margaret Thatcher and by Her Late Majesty The Queen all of whom owned one. Karen Churchill went on to cast a pair of silver Sculptures of The late Queen and Prince Philip in their Garter robes which are in the library at Windsor Castle. Sold with letter of provenance and copies of letters of appreciation from The Queen's Private Secretary, Churchills Private Secretary Lady Churchill and Margaret Thatcher.Very good condition
