J. Tugnott (sic), R. Sussex Regt., 1914 Star/clasp Trio - 5866 Pte. J. Tugnutt, R. Suss. R. (EF), bronze memorial plaque - John Tugnutt, with researchPrivate Tugnutt served with the 21st Sussex Mounted Infantry in the Boer War (five-clasp QSA entitlement only). He entered France with the regiment on September 20th, 1914, and was taken as a prisoner-of-war, but died of his wounds on November 15th, 1914.

Dreadnought flat top body with natural spruce top and rosewood back and sides in high gloss finish, white bindings, ebony black fingerboard with pearl dot inlays, 14/20 frets, solid mahogany neck with chrome Martin 12-string enclosed tuning heads. Martin black moulded hard-shell case with dark-green interior and chrome fastenings. All in excellent “as new” condition

The MV Clan Macgowan, a cargo vessel of 8811 tonnes and 471 foot length was built at Greenock for the Clan Line Steamers Ltd. The vessel was severely damaged whilst berthed at Bombay in 1984 and was broken up the following year. ++Both items in the lot in fine original condition
