French gilt bronze and black marble sculptural mantel clock of figures from the Medici Chapel, cast by Barbedienne, inset medallion of Achille Collas Reduction Mecanique, after Michelangelo, the central figure of Lorenzo, Duke of Urbino, in classical garb, height 53cm, flanked by Night and Day from Guiliano's tomb, length 47cm, the white enamel Roman dial with a lapis lazuli centre, eight-day movement striking the half on a bell, overall length 126cm. *See clocks and watches proviso. Condition report: the various parts of the arrangement are not fixed together and some architectural elements may be missing, The mis-match of the central figure and the side figures may indicate that this clock was once one of a pair that have been re-assembled incorrectly. The movement winds, ticks and strikes the half but loses step with the hour count; the dial enamel is crazed, the marble chipped on the edges, the ormolu is slightly rubbed. Note that the movement is fully enclosed, there isn't a rear opening. The black marble elements have general edge chips and scratches. Main figure: 20kg; side figures: 12.5kg and 10kg; central block: 13.5kg; side slabs:37kg combined All clocks and watches are sold without warranty.
