A group of four Italian Olympic medals and badges, comprising: i) a bronze commemorative medal for the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome; ii) a silvered 1960 Rome Games pin badge with Olympic Rings and Romulus & Remus; iii) a large enamelled metal F.S.I. pin badge for the Cortina 1956 Winter Olympic Games; and a gold plated medal inscribed OLIMPICO NAZIONALE ITALIANO COMITATO, the reverse depicting Zeus; sold together with two similar Italian Olympic Committee gilt-metal keyrings (6) Provenance: The San Siro Museum, Milan.
Three bronze football plaquettes, all designed with reserved space for engraving details of winners etc., the first issued by the F.F.F.A. (French Football Association) and dated 1932, the reverse featuring a football scene; the second unsigned and uninscribed but with a football scene, probably English and dating from the late 19th century; the third French by Morlon, featuring a footballer and inscribed, FOOTBALL and to the reverse SPORT

RODS: (2) Allcock of Redditch 13` 3 piece whole cane dapping rod in lightweight bamboo, bronze push ferrules, early sheet cork handle with over sized brass/rubber button and a Walker Bampton of Alnwick 12` 3 piece plus spare tip split cane Wye salmon rod, green close whipped, Hardy style eyes and fittings, both good in MOBs.
REEL: (2) Scottish pattern all brass early narrow drum salmon winch with serpentine handle, dark horn knob, 6 pillars, twin riveted smooth brass foot, check A/F, dates c1870, probably Edinburgh and a fine 4" bevel edge wide drum bronze salmon reel, horn handle, block foot and constant check.
ROD: Scarce Foster`s of Ashbourne 8` 2 piece split cane spinning/carp rod, full silver diamond whipped process, red agate guides throughout, bronze ferrule, 22" cork handle, fine, in cloth bag. . The Fosters Diamond whip process was patented c1890 and was claimed to strengthen any cane rod by any maker, in real term it simply increased the weight and caused water problems under the lacquer.
REEL: Fine early Hardy brass face Perfect 4.5" wide drum alloy salmon fly reel with 1906 check, Turks lock screw to rim tensioner, early nickel revolving line guide with brass shoulders to rim stamped "Hardy`s Pat" (few seen), Rod in Hand and straight line logos to bronze face plate, ivory handle, 100ml correct smooth brass foot with central hole, original drum screw, fine.
REELS: (3) Scarce bevel edged 3" bronze brass trout fly reel, horn handle, wide drum with constant check, one piece block foot, c1890, a 3.25" Redditch pattern bronze trade reel, constant check, horn handle, retaining all bronzing and a 2.5" brass trout fly reel with raised boss to backplate and constant check.
ROD: Scarce Hardy "The Palakona" 7` 2 piece with correct factory spare tip split cane trout fly rod, No.IFP123011, special order model, lined butt ring, snake intermediated whipped dark/light red, bronze ferrule, wood stopper, keeper ring, shaped cork handle, rosewood/nickel reel seat, line rate 4, as new in MOB and plastic tube.
