A mid 19th century French gilt bronze and porcelain (probably Sevres) three piece clock garniture, the clock surmounted with a porcelain pedestal urn and cover, having jewelled enamel decoration, half fluted body with a pink ground, all heightened in gilt, the gilt bronze case of square section with applied lion mask ring handles, the beaded dial flanked by leaf and flower drapes, the porcelain dial having Roman numerals within jeweled and gilded surrounds, twin winding holes for a French brass eight day cylinder movement striking on a bell, the plinth having acanthus leaf cast frieze and raised on six fluted square feet, clock height 41.5cm, the garniture as a pair of porcelain urns and covers (both covers a/f), each with continuous decoration of opposing figure and cherub scenes within landscapes, the whole within jewelled borders, having applied ormolu scroll hands and raised on circular spiral fluted bases, height 29cm (each section housed under a glass dome)
A 19th century French gilt bronze and porcelain three piece clock garniture, the clock showing Eastern influence, having painted porcelain dial with Roman numerals, twin winding holes for a French brass eight day cylinder movement striking on a bell, the case surmounted with centurion type figures, the plinth with oval porcelain reserves (two deficient), height 32cm, the garniture each surmounted with a centurion on a triform base with three lidded candle holders (one lid missing), the porcelain inset knopped columns to circular bases, height 37cm
A late 19th century king wood and marquetry inlaid bureau en pente in the manner of Joseph- Emmanuel Zwiener, the upper section of acute bombé form, the top and side panels with starburst segmented decoration, the fall front opening to reveal and tooled and gilded leather writing surface and fitted interior with central recess flanked by three stepped pigeonholes over two serpentine drawers, flanked by gilt bronze scrolling acanthus and bullrush mounts and twin candle sconces as putti holding aloft two foliate decorated torches, all over a breakfront base with single frieze drawer flanked by foliate gilt bronze capped square tapered cabriole supports to scrolling acanthus gilt bronze sabots, 65 cm wide x 49 cm deep x 100 cm high (ILLUSTRATED)
An 18th century Indonesian bronze Lantaka swivel gun of traditional form, with cast twin dragons for lifting handles above the plain trunions with a raised and cast dragon foresight, octagonal breech and tubular cascable with swivel and peg mount, with later stand 122cm long Note: these were copied from the Portuguese cannon in south East Asia and used aboard ships to protect against pirates.
