CAMERA MACHINE GUN. It`s not every day one will come across an extreme rarity like this. When commercial air travel began to hit its stride in the 1930s its use as a military application was already in its stride and being perfected. The US War Dept. (which eventually changed names to the Defense Dept.) was training combat pilots to an unstoppable force. Since it wasn`t practical to practice with live ammunition the US Army Air Corp with the help of engineers at Fairchild Aviation developed a camera gun that operated like the machine guns the airmen were used to firing while being able to record their maneuvers to improve shooting accuracy. This item in heavy gauge nickel plated bronze was designed to mount in an aircraft like the machine guns of the period with an interior to hold film with the trigger snapping pictures at a rate of up to 6 frames per second. Complete with cross-hair sites, wooden handles and a long barrel it mimicked the look of the military machine gun. Affixed with an official plaque identifying it along with a serial number of ""A.C. 37-217"". Accompanied by documents pertaining to aerial photography including an equally rare official War Dept. technical manual dated July 8, 1941 and a de-classified manual for aerial gunnery dated August 1919 (these were most often destroyed) as well as correspondence between the present consignor and aeronautical historians about the camera gun. EARLY LIGHT BRONZE CENTER SEAMED MOHAIR STEIFF BEAR WITH BUTTON. This circa 1907 Steiff Teddy bear is 5-ways jointed and made from thick and lovely light bronze colored mohair. He has his original light tan felt pads and four black hand-embroidered claws on each paw. He has traditional early Steiff proportions including long arms with spoon shaped paws, long and narrow feet, and a pronounced back hump. His utterly appealing face is detailed with the highly desirable center seam (seen only in 1 out of 7 early Steiff bears), black shoebutton eyes, lightly trimmed muzzle, and a black hand-embroidered nose and mouth. A delightful example of what makes early Steiff bears so collectible and treasured all over the world. Teddy retains his trailing ""F"" button and traces of his white ear tag as his Steiff IDs. A CONTINENTAL STYLE GILT BRONZE FIGURAL CENTER BOWL The bowl with opposing figural putto handles, Green Man motif, and chased decoration throughout, the columnar standard with coiled serpent and further raised on a rocaille base with opposing ram`s head embellishments, the base with impressed numerals to one end. A CLIGNANCOURT PORCELAIN GILT BRONZE MOUNTED COMPOTE Having repeating gilt painted floral swag motif surrounding the central medallion of a courting couple, signed at lower left, the porcelain bowl with beaded gilt bronze mounting to the rim and raised on a tripartite footed pedestal above a further porcelain base, marked to base with Clignancourt mark in red and stamped France beneath the mount. H 6¼ x W 9¼ x D 9¼ inches.

A PAIR OF SEVRES STYLE ORMOLU MOUNTED PORCELAIN URNS, SIGNED WAGNER Each having an artichoke finial to the cover, the body of urn form and mounted with opposing gilt bronze handles, the central reserve of each with a depiction of a young lady in differing period attire and signed Wagner lower right, opposed by neoclassical motif of ribbons and swags, mounted beneath by gilt bronze surmounting the pedestal base, raised on a gilt bronze bracket foot marked France to base, the porcelain pedestal marked to base with Sevres mark, the cover interior of each with Sevres mark and further marked ""Beaute."" H 11¾ x W 5¾ x D 4½ inches.
