A George IV dark patinated bronze plaque, as a horse passant, applied beneath an armorial tablet of the Worshipful Company of Saddlers also bronze to an oak architectural triform mount,applied to verso with and old paper label indistinctly inscribed in ink manuscript, and a typed description with footnote This relief is said to have been given by George IV to be hung in Mer Hancock's Parlour as a reward for his fine work of cabinet making in the Royal Palaces, 32.5cm wide overall, c.1825
A 19thC exhibition quality J W Benson mantel clock, with Royal links, the 12cm Dia. Roman numeric dial marked J W Benson, with exposed cog work revealing the 8-day movement, in a Neo Classical polished bronze case, with brass additions, an inverted front and further plaque reading The Prince and Princess of Wales visited Sheffield 16th August 1875, the back plate numbered 64, striking on the hour and half hours, in a break front case, 42cm H. The clock was probably made for the opening of Firth Park when Edward Prince of Wales and Princess Alexandra formally opened it, on the date above. James W Benson (1826-1878)had several Royal Warrants, with premises in Cornhill, Ludgate Hill and Old Bond Street.
Royal Army Medical Corps Silver Presentation Figure.This dramatic silver figure depicts a WW1 RAMC medic carrying a wounded comrade. The casualty is swathed in bandages to his head and is carried on the back of the medic as he jogs through the mud of the front line. Bearing silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1999. There is a further mark indicating this is a filled stature with a silver cover and not solid silver. The figures are mounted onto a mahogany plinth with a presentation inscription “Presented to Lt Gen Sir Richard Gray KCB OBE DL by Officers Mess 250 (Hull) Amb (V) on his retirement as Honorary Colonel Adieu”. Overall Height 10 inches. The statue has been damaged at the foot and ankle of the running figure and with basic repair, still remains an impressive display item.Information supplied by the vendor indicates the full size bronze statue is on display at the Army Medical Services Museum Keogh Barracks Aldershot.

Comprising: British War Medal, Victory Medal, “R-12727 PTE G.R. ABBOTT KRRC”. Bronze Memorial Plaque “GEOFFREY ROBINSON ABBOTT”. Private Geoffrey Robinson Abbott was born in Paddington and was a resident of Southminster. His medal card index confirms he landed in France after 1916 and his was Killed in Action on the 31st July 1917, whilst serving with the 18th Bn KRRC.

This contained in original card case and postal envelope with address to Mrs C Mills of Bradford. Private George Henry Mills a native of Bradford landed in Egypt with his Battalion on the 22nd December 1915, Posted to the Western Front, he later transferred to the 8th Bn Royal Scots and was Killed in Action on the 23rd July 1918.

He landed in France with the 8th KOSB on the 10th July 1915 and was Killed in Action on the 25th September 1915, his memorial card stating killed at the Battle of Loos.
2nd Bn West Riding Regiment Officer Prisoner of War Casualty Medal Group & Ephemera.Awarded to Second Lieutenant Archibald Herbert Larcombe who died as a POW within weeks of the end of the Great War Comprising: British War Medal, Victory Medal “2 LIEUT A.H. LARCOMBE”, Bronze Memorial Plaque “ARCHIBALD HERBERT LARCOMBE”, Memorial Scroll. Accompanied by a number of photographs taken as a POW. ... Letter from a fellow Officer after Larcombe’s capture. ... Letter informing of his death. ... etc. The Memorial Plaque and Scroll are mounted into a contemporary glazed frame (glass cracked). Second Lieutenant Archibald Herbert Larcombe a native of Frome was commissioned on the 22nd November 1916. Proceeding to France he was serving with the 2nd Bn Duke of Wellingtons Regiment the West Riding Regiment. A letter accompanying the lot was received by the family on the 20th May 1917. Sent by 2nd Lieutenant William Ewant Horsley a friend, he reported that Archibald had been wounded during an attack almost reaching the Battalion objective he was known to have crawled into a shell hole with the intention of making the British lines after dark. The German counter offensive cut off his position and there was a strong chance he along with a number of his men had been captured. This turned out to be the case with a number of original postcard photographs showing Archibald with fellow prisoners. A letter dated 9th January 1919 from the Central Prisoners of War Committee confirmed he died in the “ lazarett at Ohrdruf on the 26th October 1918”.
Of Royal commemorative interest, a collection of 20th century British monarch busts to include a bronze of Queen Mary of Teck on a polished marble base, 16.5 cm high, two cast polished bronze examples, of Edward VIII (16 cm high) and George VI (18 cm high) a cast composite study of Edward VIII and a further plaster Edward VIII bust with coronation date of May 12th 1937, 24 cm high, also together with a bolt of fabric decorated with vignettes of Edward VIII to include the coronation, 196 x 87 cm.
