A. Canning, Art Deco, oil on canvas - A Tiger and a Buddha, signed and dated 1938, inscribed verso 'The bronze image holds the heat of the sun. For the Tiger, it holds nothing more. Emulate the Tiger.', framed, 77cm x 91cmCondition report: The work has not been re-lined, there is an old tear to the canvas by the tail which has been repaired verso (see images). There is some light cracking to the paint in various areas but the paint surface is stable and there is no flaking.
