A 19th century bronze-work betel nut box, attributed to the Maranao people (Southern Philippines) the exterior with stylised symmetrical decoration below a hinged lid, flanked by looping handles, the lid opening to reveal a multi-compartment interior, with further hinged lids, the exterior lid frieze detail with a scripted panel, 9 cm tall x 16 cm long *This lot was previously owned by British artist Ronald Moody (1900-84).

Union Nationale des Societes de Tir de France, cast bronze plaque, signed H. Dubois, for Barbedienne. Uniface, the design shows winged figure carrying a naked warrior away from the battle ground, a burning town behind. “Honneur” and “Patrie” either side, top ring mount, 253mm, c 1894 GVF. A 2 part medallion “La Bretagne” in bronze, obverse lady in traditional dress sits beside a window, reverse Breton Cross Calvary, by Dufresne and issued by S.A.M.F. Each side is uniface bar four figure “4” raised to one side and incuse to the other which, when aligned show the medallion in usual style. VF

A .577” Volunteer 3 band Enfield percussion rifle, 55” overall, barrel 39” with B’ham proofs, and numbered “416” at breech, the lock engraved with crowned “VR” and stamped “Tower 1879” over traces of earlier Tower marks, the walnut fullstock with regulation brass mounts, sling swivels, nipple protector on chain, steel ramrod with replacement bronze tip and later buff leather sling. GWO & C, some original finish beneath surface rust and dirt (the bore very dirty from being fired and not cleaned). Plate 11

London 2012 Olympic Stadium athletics track Lane No.9 marking, a section of the red vulcanized rubber dual layer athletics track installed by the Italian manufacturer Mondo, removed from its position at the termination of the sprint track beyond the 100m & 110m (hurdles) starts, bearing the 'No.9' lane marking in white in the "2012Headline" typeface designed by Gareth Hague for the London 2012 Games, the first time that an Olympic running track was marked with anything other than generic Arabic numerals, measurement approx. 125 by 110cm.; sold with a certificate of authenticity issued by the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) and the Mayor of Newham (2) The highest placed performance from Lane 9 at the London 2012 Olympic Games was the silver medal spot achieved by the Trinidad & Tobago men's 4 x 100m Relay team, comprising Keston Bledman, Marc Burns, Emmanuel Callender & Richard Thompson. A bronze medal was won by Carmelita Jeter (USA) in the women's 200m. No gold medals were won from Lane 9 at the Paralympics.
