A Dolphin Motor-Car Mascot A rare hollow-cast bronze mascot depicting a stylised jumping dolphin in water. No markings, but finely detailed and with a good patina. 8-cms high. Dolphin cars were unusual V-8 two-stroke vehicles designed by Harry Ricardo in about 1907 and manufactured at a factory in Shoreham-by-Sea.

Telcote Pup 'Bonzo' Mascot, depicting the cartoon character by Augustine & Emile Lejeune, a hollow-cast bronze body with diamond-cut red glass eyes, 'Bonzo' stamped on the side, and 'Telcote Pup' impressed in his collar. This mascot of the mid-1920s was inspired by a French Bulldog, a comic book character created by the illustrator George E. Studdy, which he named 'Bonzo'. A French design, English manufacture. The larger of two sizes available in the 1920s, 5½-inches (14cm) long, its threaded mounting stem removed. Also, a later Lejeune standing Mr Toad of 'Wind in the Willows' fame, with Lejeune script on the base, together with a cast aluminium Rover head mascot mounted on a wooden base. (3)

Pierrot and Columbine Motor-Car Mascots Unusual to find as a pair, these well-crafted bronze figurines retain their gilt finish with ivorine (not ivory) head and arms. A popular character in the commedia dell'arte oeuvre, Pierrot is singing and playing his mandolin to Columbine who rejects him in favour of Harlequin, a rare mascot in similar condition, but with a damaged hand. Both mounted on turned mahogany bases, each mascot 14 cms high. (2)

A Chinese patinated bronze two handled vase, probably 19th century, deep red brown patination, copper-brown patinated interior to neck, cast with pairs of dragons and flaming pearls, the neck and base with lappets enclosing foliage and the base with scale border, the shoulder with archaic style elephant handles, 14in. (35.5cm.) high, faults to patination. * Both sides of the body have heavily rubbed / polished areas to the patination. The joint between the neck and body is loose and the neck can be lifted away from the body a little. Small dent to footrim and there is a rough area to the casting above this which has a hole through the bronze.

A Chinese patinated bronze two handled hu vase, probably 18th/19th century, with apocryphal Xuande six character mark to base, red brown patination, the slightly tapered square neck with square rim and two elephant handles, each side with a shaped reserve, two with figures in mountain landscapes, the other two with diaper work, the body with a band of keywork with archaic dragons, the flared foot with key work decoration, 12¼in. (31.2cm.) high. * Good patina overall - interior has general dirt and residue from use as a vase over many years. The base has old (probably early 20th century) putty pushed into the seam between the body and base, presumably in an attempt to seal tiny holes in the past when it was used as a vase and leaked water. There is a small spot of creamy coloured residue on the surface of the bronze in the dragon keywork band, and there is a larger, fainter patch of verdigris to the surface of the bronze on the foot, just above the keywork band - this is very old and there is a small flake from the surface of the metal here. No other damage to bronze.

Moigniez', in the baroque style with twin handles, decorated with a bird and her two chicks, raised on six floral bracket feet, velvet lined interior, 5¾in. (14.6cm.) high, tarnished. * Provenance: The Sladmore Gallery, London, 1968. A similar casket was exhibited by Moigniez at the Great Exhibition in London, 1862. ** Condition: Silvered finish tarnished, a little gilt wear. Otherwise in good condition.

(49.5cm.) high. * Condition: Winds and runs. Strikes correctly. Dial and case good with no faults.
