A good cased 5 shot 54 bore Beaumont Adams percussion revolver, the top strap engraved “Robert Adams, 76 King William Street, London”, the frame engraved “B 20,662 Adams’ Patent 36,432R”, the cylinder also numbered “36,432R”, with London proofs and L.A.C. mark. Good Working Order and Condition, retaining approximately 60% of original deep mirror blued finish (some staining to trigger guard and butt cap); in its original green baize lined fitted oak case, with Robert Adams trade label (worn), plain bag shaped copper flask by Dixon, double cavity 54 bore bronze mould, cleaning rod, nipple key with pricker, screwdriver, pewter oil bottle, and a 16 bore wad punch. Good Condition (slight damage to lid of case which is also slightly warped, key hole escutcheon and key missing). Plate 74
A cased 5 shot 54 bore Tranter’s patent double action percussion revolver, 11½” overall, barrel 6”, with London proofs, the top strap engraved “Wilkinson & Son, Pall Mall, London”, frame engraved “No 21756T”, with deeply chequered walnut butt. Good Working Order and Condition, retaining traces of original blued finish; in its original green baize lined fitted mahogany case with circular brass escutcheon in lid and Wilkinson & Son trade label, containing double cavity 54 bore bronze mould stamped “Tranters Patent”, bag shaped copper flask by Hawksley, with original lacquered finish, brass mounted cleaning rod, ebony handled turnscrew, Joyce cap tin with labels, and Hawksley pewter oil bottle (minor damage to case, no key). An Indian 14 bore percussion gun, 46” overall, barrel 30” with simple line decoration and initials “D.S.S” at breech, the Enfield style lock from an earlier military weapon, the plate stamped “2nd Irregular Cavalry”, halfstocked with pistol grip and bronze mounts including small patch box in butt. A pair of dark brown patinated bronze twelve-branch candelabra, early 20th century, each with a central cut glass column and spire, the scrolled branches with circular moulded drip pans extensively hung with beaded swags and pear-shaped drops, issuing from baluster and knopped glass supports and raised on foliate and scroll moulded circular bases, standing on simulated porphyry hexagonal pedestals, candelabrum 96cm high (2) CONDITION REPORT: No obvious major faults.
An unusually large Japanese bronze fighting cock, late 19th century, naturalistically cast with tooled feathers and with traces of silver and gilt patination, on a wooden plinth, 69cm excluding plinth CONDITION REPORT: One leg loose. AMENDED CONDITION REPORT: Section of feathers missing on leg joint of front leg. Solder lines visible on two of the claws on front foot. Small split to feathers at back of front leg.
