Dated 19th October, 1889.Finch fought in the Boer War between 1900-01 and gained the rank of Major in the service of the 3rd Battalion Manchester Regiment. During The Great War he was mentioned in dispatches 3 times and was Invested as an Officer Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in King George V Birthday Honours of 1919.He lived at Tullamore Park, County Tipperary, Ireland and held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Tipperary.
