De même, sa participation à l’exposition universelle de 1889 lui vaut une médaille de Bronze. Comme le suggèrent la date et la signature de notre tableau, celui-ci est probablement une Å“uvre de jeunesse, réalisée lors de l’apprentissage de l’artiste à Düsseldorf, où il demeure entre 1869 et 1873.
