Note: the original pair of gold Vaphio cups (circa 1500-1400 B.C.) were excavated from a beehive tomb at Vaphio in 1889 by Christos Tsountas. The ancient site is located in Laconia, Greece. The originals were transferred to the National Archaeological Museum of Athens.
