An Antique Eastern Bronze Three Branch Incense & Oil Burner. The central column surmounted by a gadrooned censer having an ornately pierced conical lid with crown & knop finial. The three upwardly swept branches attached by wing-nuts to a petalled disc emanating from the centre stem and raising dished oil burners; each with a serrated edge & four spouts centred by a ball mounted finial. Standing 31 ins (79 cms) in height on a square base. 25 ins (64 cms) in width.
Good large French musical box made by L'Epee of Ste. Suzanne circa 1874, serial no. 39304, playing twelve airs on a 39cm cylinder with original blank coloured tune card of Thibouville Lamy under the lid, the movement playing on five bells with Bee strikers, a snare drum and castanets, within a rosewood, walnut parquetry case, the lid inlaid with a bird and butterfly amidst flowering foliage within a chevron banded border, with similar inlay to the front and sides fitted with ornate bronze cast drop handles, 27" wide overall
A SUPERB AND RARE PAI R OF 18th/19th CENTURY GILT BRONZE VERSAILLE LANTERNS, of cage form with corona finial above four carytid mounts in the form of Neptune. Each lantern inset with 56 panels of bevelled glass, mounted with shells and lion masks to base. 4 ft high. These lanterns are modelled on the originals which hang in the Palace of Versaille. The originals were first produced in the mid 18th Century. Each panel of glass is unusually bevelled which suggests the lamps are of the highest quality.
