Copper alloy miniature cauldron are dated from the late medieval to the post medieval period. These items appear in the late 15th and continue perhaps into the 18th century, although they are most common during the late 16th to 17th century. These are the only miniature domestic items of copper alloy known in any number; many other base metal miniatures are made from lead or lead alloy and were most likely used as toys. Fine condition.
