Jean Baptiste (August Clesinger, French 1814-1883), a lot of significant historical art interest - an original terracotta maquette for one of Clesinger's finest works, 'La Jeunesse de Bacchus', depicting the young Bacchus swathed in lion pelt and fruit laden vines riding upon the back a panther, on integral rectangular base bearing signature 'J. Clesinger', seated on a slate plinth, c.1869, 21in. (53.5cm.) long, 17in. (43.25cm.) high. * A plaster version of this figure was offered in by Oger & Dumont & Delorme, Paris, on 16th October 2006, estimate 10,000-12,000 Euros. An example of the full size bronze, seated on a Brescia marble pedestal, was offered at Sotheby's New York, 'Property from the Estate of Rochelle Sepenuk' auction, 21st October 2008, lot 26, hammer price $18,750.
A pair of French patinated bronze and ormolu candlesticks, second half of 19th century, the foliate urn sconces on patinated tapered and reeded columns with gilt acanthus capitals and urn mounts to gilt foliate circular bases, 11¾in. (30cm.) high, later converted to lamps, 16½in. (42cm.) high overall, complete with pale grey pleated silk shades. (2)
An impressive bronze barrelled signalling cannon by The Line-throwing Gun Co. Dundee, numbered 153, on a wooden stepped and iron mounted truckle carriage with hard wood wheels, maker's plaque to one side, overall length 42in. (106.5cm.), barrel 34in. (86.25cm.) long, width 31in. (78.75cm.).
An inlaid slate cased mantel clock, late 19th century, white enamel Roman dial, marked 'Dufet A' Nantes', eight day bell strike movement signed for Vincenti, 1855, within a waisted form central body, with slate and Eretria marble top with bronze covered urn surmount, decorated with rose florettes and thorned stem handles, on wider base bearing Eretria marble inlay, 13in. (33cm.) high, 8¼in. (21cm.) wide.

(17.75cm.) high; together with a brass bust of 'Wellington The Iron Duke, Waterloo', 4in. (10.2cm.) high. (2), * Condition: Small ding to one side of base and small dent to one lower corner. Tip of finger on Napoleon's outstretched arm missing. Good patina overall with just minor wear as expected to edges. One inkwell cracked. Bust in good condition.
An antique Chinese bronze mirror on hardwood stand, the back of the mirror cast with raised calligraphy, birds, animals and flowers and with a central mounting socket, on a tall, carved and pierced hardwood stand, the mirror 15½in. (39.25cm.) diameter, the stand 20in. (50.75cm.) wide, overall height 27in. (68.5cm.).
Beatrice Murray (Contemporary) Abstract sculpture, marked to base 'Beatrice', 35cm high approx. and another similar (af) (2)Beatrice Murray produced a bronze and fibre glass bust of Margaret Thatcher which Margaret Thatcher sat for in person over a number of sittings. There are numerous newspaper cuttings related to this include photographs of Beatrice Murray with Margaret Thatcher, dated circa June 11th 1975. Mrs Murray also produced busts of Billie Jean King. Mrs Beatrice Murray is believed to have started producing sculpture in the 1960's.
