Lacking the light fitting and band that affixes below the arms, leaving drill holes for the fittings. There are a number of lamps of this design bearing the signature M. Meliodon. According to some research this could have been be cast after J.A Meliodon left Paris for America, and possibly the JA are blended in but the sculptor was no longer available to verify the work.. Philippe RuM’, mounted on a verde antico base, one replaced wood hand, 41cm highIvory License number: QYLSEESG RuM for Rosenthal und Maeder Foundry.Condition report: Most significantly the figure has one had replaced with a painted wood example, which is also missing the little finger. The silvered surface is worn in areas, typically where the figure ha been handles around the torso and legs and other extremities where the surface looks rubbed and worn. Naturally some oxidization. A few very small light scuffs to the rim of the marble base as to be expected. Otherwise, in good order with the other hand and face well executed and showing no obvious damage or repairs. Dirt and dust to the recesses as to be expected. The fleur-de-lys on her dress is the Anjou smbol and the griffin on her hat is the coat of arms of the Affaitati family, an ancient Italian family. The latin inscription says 'Altissima' confirming that this bronze is portrait of Johanna when she was a countess and before she became Queen.
