An Arts & Crafts style painted pine hexagonal box of font form with bronze bracket embellishments and twin disc finial, raised on a tapered hexagonal foot, 56 cm high CONDITION REPORTS The top finial is loose. There are bruises and scrapes all over, and especially on one corner of the lid. There is some bubbling of the varnish, there is discolouration to the top of the base where is joins the box. The interior is plain. One hinge is loose. General wear and tear.

JOHN MIERS (1758-1821) "Young gentleman facing to the left", with paper label verso, oval, 8.5 cm x 7 cm, together with another "Lady facing to the left", heightened in bronze, silhouette portrait studies 5.5 cm x 5 cm CONDITION REPORTS Painted on plaster. Some discolouration to the area around the cravat / stock. Frame in poor order with amateur restoration. Label verso with some damage and old sellotape holding the back in which has not been removed for fear of damaging the label further. The accompanying portrait of a woman has discolouration to the paper and slight warping overall. Small surface rip to the base of the cap at rear. Frame with crazing the lacquerwork throghout.

Has a chalky type paint / wash to parts of the figure and sundial. Weathering and pitting and some chips, including large shallow chip to one shoulder/arm, a small chip to the other. Large chip to base and various smaller chips throughout.

A circa 1900 Austrian cold-painted bronze figure of a mouse, stamped to base "1084 G.Schutz Depose", 8 cm long CONDITION REPORTS Overall with quite heavy wear and scuffs. Quite and lot of wear and losses to the painted decoration. Areas of the tail ears and nose, particularly, have paint worn away and the bronze showing through. Underside bears impressed marks, and also a faint scratched number "1399" and various other scratch marks. Some small knocks and dents and one front foot dented and mis-shapen. One back foot appears to have some losses and wear to the toes. Quite a few areas where the painted decoration has worn or flaked away.
A circa 1900 French bronze figure of a mounted huntsman with horn, 37 cm long x 33 cm high, on an associated oval alabaster plinth base CONDITION REPORTS The associated oval base has various chips and stains and cracks and filler and gluing. It is made in sections and its top has various later chiselled out area in a roughly oval shape.
A 19th Century Chinese cloisonne and gilt bronze lidded box of peach form, with all-over flowering branch decoration, bears vacant seal mark to stem, 15 cm long x 10 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Some of the flowering branch decoration is loose and one leaf is off. There are several holes the branches - unknown whether these are for screws or for further attachments which are not present. There are some large sections of enamel decoration missing from the red areas of the lid, and crazing to the enamel on the interior in the same location and further areas of crazing and cracks, the same areas is missing sections of enamel on the base and interior. All over there are firing faults and other small areas of loss to the enamel work.The interior of the base also has some erosion and pitting, and there is a section of enamel missing with the base metal showing through. Chinese cloisonne inkwell and cover, on a wooden stand, 14cm CONDITION REPORT: Body - gilding slightly worn on rim, appears in good condition, no obvious major damage or dents, rather dirty. This is gilt bronze, the interior well has a very slight cracking to interior enamel at the joint. Wooden stand appears good apart from repair (re-gluing) to tip of one of the scrolls. Lid - slight dent to interior rim, three slight losses to enamel inside lid, exterior is rather dirty, slight rubbinf to edge gilding, not much gilding left on lion dog which has verdigris. Slight scrapes, no obvious dents or losses, hole slightly visible beneath knop. (lion dog).

1798 Davison’s Nile Medal. This is a scarce example of the bronze medal,with later Victorian gilding. issued to ratings who were present at the Great Victory on the 1st August 1798. The obverse depicts the figure of peace caressing a shield embossed with a portrait of Lord Nelson. The reverse is decorated with a scene of the British Fleet at Aboukir Bay. The edged is with inscription from Alexander Davison. Polish to high points GC.
WW1 1917 6th Bn Gordon Highlanders POW Casualty Group of Medals. Awarded to “12304 PTE J McCONNACHIE GORDONS” Comprising: 1914/15 Star, “L-CPL”, British War Medal, Victory Medal, Bronze Memorial Plaque, “JOHN McCONNACHIE”. Lance Corporal John McConnachie was a native of Huntly Aberdeenshire. He landed in France on the 2nd December 1915, he appears to have been taken prisoner and died on the 10th June 1917 and now rests in Niederzwehren Cemetery Germany. This cemetery was created by the Germans for the burial of prisoners.
