Very Good Working Order and Condition (professionally re-blued overall); in its original blue baize lined fitted oak case, the lid escutcheon engraved with initials, containing Hawksley flask (very good condition), Tranter marked double cavity bronze mould, wooden cleaning rod, nipple key, turnscrew, pewter oil bottle, soft leather cap bag with printed label, a modern cap tin containing grease, and the case key. A most unusual French 6 shot 9mm Lefaucheux single action breech loading percussion revolver, to take reloadable steel percussion cartridges, c 1857, number 4096 on the cylinder, octagonal barrel 186mm (7-3/8"), engraved “BERTONNET A BUENOS-AYRES & PARIS”; the plain cylinder and frame having large rectangular cut outs to accommodate the percussion nipples; the scroll engraved frame stamped “E.LEFAUCHEUX INVR. BREVETE”; with spur trigger guard and nicely chequered walnut grips. Good Working Order and quite crisp Condition, the barrel and cylinder retaining some original blued finish; in its close fitted red (faded) velvet lined English style oak case with circular brass lid escutcheon, containing accessories suitable for an English percussion revolver, comprising plain copper flask retaining original brown finish, double cavity bronze bullet mould, nipple key with pricker, cleaning rod, pewter oil bottle, 6 reloadable steel cartridges with nipples, and key to case.
