A WWII medal group awarded to 5119036 Trooper H Cowan of the Reconnaissance Corps, Royal Armored Corps, comprising 1939-45 Star, France and Germany Star, Defence medal and 1939-45 medal with oak leaf Mention in Despatches clasp, also a framed Mentioned in Despatches certificate dated 8th November 1945, spare oak leaf, a letter from the War Office regarding the oak leaf emblem, also a typed letter regarding the winning of the Mention in Despatches award for action on the 28th March 1945 where trooper Horace Cowan was involved in enemy action by driving his Bren Carrier across a bridge, he then retreated back to his section where he found his uniform had two bullet holes though he himself was unwounded. Also a letter from The Ministry of Defence detailing Mr Cowan`s war record and a copy of an article written by Mr Cowan regarding his wartime experience, also a bronze medal commemorating Cane 50th Anniversary (illustrated).
