An unusual gilt bronze figure of San Liberale, Venetian, possibly late 17th or early 18th century. Portrayed as a man in medieval attire holding a miniature church. Inscribed S. Liberale 1374. On an antique marble base. (San Liberale was the patron of several churches in the diocese of Treviso. According to legend his relics had been interred on Torcello in the 14th century).
A Japanese bronze figure of a bearded warrior 19th century, dressed in flowing robes decorated with dragons and flaming pearls over a frothing sea, holding his beard in his left hand, his right clenched to hold a weapon, probably a later replacement, on a naturalistic rocky base, 14.5in. (37cm.) high.
The Henry Dewey, Maurice Weller Archaeological Collection, a mahogany cabinet containing a fine provenanced collection, ranging from Western Sahara arrow heads, Neolithic to bronze age British arrow heads, two bronze age axe heads, medieval buttons, a section of Roman tessellated floor from Camborne, Cornwall, the collection is sold with an interesting four page description, copies available on request.
A late Victorian writing table in the manner of Edwards & Roberts, the back with a pair of writing drawers, with curved flap covers, joined by an open shelf, the base with a green leather inset and an arrangement of seven drawers, the whole marquetry decorated in Adam`s style, with flower bronze arabesque, urns and putti, width 48 1/2ins.
