James Osborne (1940-1992) - Girl athlete, bronze, mid to dark brown patina, mounted on a square granite base, titled to brass plaque and dated 1980, numbered 1/10, gross h.50cm Condition Report / Extra Information Some light handling wear to bronze, resulting in mid-colour high points to extremities.Low relief fingernail chip to top edge of one corner of base, and further chip to bottom corner.
A 19th Century French ormolu and patinated bronze mantel clock the white enamel Roman dial signed Cailliaud, Nantes, the twin train drum movement with outside count wheel bell strike and silk suspension, the drum head case mounted with a seated figure of a gentleman with pen and paper upon a raised base with scroll feet, 40cm high
A Japanese bronze club shaped vase, decorated with an insect in relief and with character mark signature to base. Height 28 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This lot is in very good condition with no damage, no repairs and no restoration. There are some minor surface marks and scratches as one would expect from something of this age but no real condition issues to worry about.
A cold painted bronze bird, with red breast, probably a Finch. Height 9 cm. CONDITION REPORT: This probably dates from the 1930's. The paint is original. There are some losses to the paint. The rear leg is slightly loose at the joint. The front leg is showing signs of stress at the joint but is not loose.
A Japanese bronze elephant and tiger group, bearing signature. Length 22 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The bronze is in generally very good condition with no issues with the metalwork at all. The left hand tusk has been broken and re-glued. The right hand facing tusk is a little loose in the socket and two thirds of the tusk is of a different colour to the base which may indicate a repair; however this may simply have been part of the manufacturing process.
