WORLD WAR ONE TRIO OF MEDALS GROUP AND LETTERS RELATING TO GALLIPOLI awarded to 7456 Private H.Jardine H.L.I, included are 1914-18, Victory and 1914-15 Star, as well as bronze memorial plaque, parchment, War Graves Commision paperwork, MOD paperworK, bible, and two letters dated 3rd June 1915 and 28th June (his date of death), addressed to his mother.
David Alison (1882-1955) - Oil painting - Half length portrait of Mr James Bow Dunn (1861-1930), board 13.5ins x 10.5ins, unsigned but inscribed in pencil with the artist`s name and address 108 George Street, Edinburgh and name of the sitter, in deep moulded stained wood frame, and with two medallions awarded by The Royal Scottish Academy to James Dunn, an Associate in 1914 (bronze) and a Fellow in 1930 (silver) complete with cases for same Provenance : Mr James Bow Dunn born 16th January 1861 at Pollokshields, Glasgow. The family moved to Edinburgh where he was educated at Herriots Watts. On 28th September 1898 he married Catherine Norma Ballantyne of Walkerburn, Midlothian and on 5th June he was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Institute of British Architects. He died 25th August 1930 after an operation, leaving a widow, son and two daughters who at that time were living at 7 Ainslie Place, Edinburgh, and thence by family descent
