A Chinese parcel-gilt bronze vase: of baluster form with bottle-horned dragon handles and splayed foot, the neck with concentric ribbed bands, the rounded sides decorated in archaic style with a large taotie mask on each side, the neck and foot encircled by dragon and bird borders, all on a key pattern ground, 28cm high.
A small quantity of Chinese carved jade, malacite and hardstone items; comprising a 'Gu' vase of archaic bronze form, carved with four rows of blades, the stone of greyish celadon colour, 13 cm high, a circular pale celadon pendant carved with gourds, in a white metal mount, 4.5 cm diameter, a malachite carving of a lotus leaf: 8 x 5.5 cm and wood stand, a hinged bangle with pierced mounts stamped 14k, 7.5 cm diameter and a small pendant carved in the form of melons and foliage, 4 cm long. The Lot also includes the Victoria Long Service and Good Conduct medal awarded to Uriah Downer, Leading Stoker on HMS Victory and reputedly William`s Father.
