Ca.1200 AD.Medieval Middle East, Turkey / Persia, Seljuk Empire (sometimes Seljuq), A beautiful cast bronze lidded vessel, featuring a cylindrical body with ornate repousse motifs encircling it - geometric forms, organized around repeated triangles of different sizes and orientations. The lid is domed, with a spherical finial and similar repousse decoration. Two leaf-shaped openwork handles and three loops for suspension adorn the sides. Time has given this piece a lovely patina. Ca. 2nd millennium BCE.Central Asia, Bactria-Margiana (BMAC) (Oxus Civilization), Bronze Age; A delightful cast bronze vessel for holding cosmetics, capped by a long lid with BIRDS figure atop that is perhaps attached to stick used for applying kohl. The pot has a highly decorated rounded body with a beaded equator line; Three bent legs with hoof-like feet support it. Based on ancient evidence, we believe that the Bactrian concept of feminine beauty involved cosmetically enhanced dark eyes, which this item would have been used to create. The tripod stands on three cabriole legs each forming a stylized head of a dragon; the body is decorated with lotus flowers and scrolls; the shoulders are embellished with two Chi-dragon handles. Ca.20th C or earlier / Qing style. A magnificent incense burner decorated with lotus blooms and small clouds using light-blue and red glass inlays (cloisonne'). The tripod has a slighty compressed globular form; three cabriole legs each forming the stylised body of a dragon, the gilt bronze heads of which support the body of the censer. The shoulders are embellished with two Chi-dragon handles, each fearsome face detailed with bulging eyes, an arched body adorned by ruyi-shaped scrolls which finish as the dragon’s tail. This remarkable and graphically strong poster shows the most famous resident of Tongeren, namely the imposing bronze statue of Eburonenkoning Ambiorix from 1866 on the Tongeren Grote Markt, which honors the memorable victory over the Romans in 54 BC. Caesar the Belgians the bravest of all Gauls. Ambiorix poses in Germanic costume, with a battle ax and a dragon helmet. The icon is set in a pop art style of bold purple and olive green tones. An incredible 'as new' Silver Crest Models made 5" gauge model railway live steam locomotive 1366 Class Great Western. Unfired, unused and completely as new. Purchased back in January 2020 (this year) the incredibly well detailed locomotive comes with all its original paperwork, accessories and boiler certificate. The coal-fired live steam loco includes; two outside cylinders, Stephenson valve gear, cast iron cylinder blocks with bronze liners, drain cocks, lubricator, reverser, sprung axle boxes with needle roller bearings, safety valve, pressure gauge.
