Charles Vital-Cornu, French c. 1851-1927, 'Opium Slumber', a bronze figural vessel, with two nude maidens and poppy flower heads in relief, signed within the bronze and with foundry mark, 36 x 40 cm Provenance, Purchased by the vendors grandfather, from l’Exposition Universelle in Paris 1900, the same year that Vital Cornu was awarded a silver medal by the exhibition judges. .
After Auguste Moreau (French 1834 - 1917), `Vici`, an early 20th century bronze sculptural lamp, cast as a putto in standing position with head and wings raised, holding a bow with flower heads either side which forms the lamp fitting, marked with the raised Fabrication Francaise Paris and lit crucible foundry stamp, 58cm high.
