A CHINESE BRONZE FIGURE OF GUANYIN, 17TH CENTURY. The bodhisattva seated wearing a crown with arm resting on the right knee wearing long beaded necklaces and robe tied at the waist. Late Ming dynasty (1368-1944). 18cm tall. Weight 1102 Good overall condition for age with no signs of damage or repair. Surface wear to note.

A large Victorian French mantel or novelty clock depicting a girl collecting apples under a tree. The bronze style casting is stamped on the casting "Hip Moreau" and a brass plaque attached to the base is engraved "Mireille Par Hip Moreau". All raised on an onyx base sitting on gilded case feet with leaves and swirls decoration. Below the girl is a French two-train clock with 3" porcelain dial with Arabic numerals and painted blue and pink flowers. Movement stamped "3393", as is the pendulum. Dimensions: 29" x 14" x 9".Condition: All complete as far as can be seen. Will need a clean. Movement appears all present but not tested.
Victorian Egyptian revival slate mantle clock, with sphinx to top. Two train French movement .4 1/2" Black dial with gold coloured Roman numerals. LE ROY & FILS Paris 13-15 Palais Royal painted on the dial in gold letters. Movement also stamped with makers name and serial number 540. Bevelled glass to dial and bronze style bezel.Lovely example of a Victorian Egyptian clock. 2 keys, retailed in England circa 1880Dimensions 17" x 14" x 7"Condition. Good condition, no signs of cracks to case. Ticking at tome of cataloguing but movement not fully tested.
Russian inkwell in the form of a gilt bronze sleigh that carries the well. The glass inkwell is hidden within the sack along the back of the sled. Mounted to a malachite base.Provenance: Property from the distinguished collection of Mr. James Lee Soffer, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.Height: 3 1/2 in x width: 7 1/4 in x width: 4 1/2 in.Condition: There are no chips, cracks or losses to the glass inkwell. Light wear throughout, consistent with age and use. To the interior of the inkwell, there some ink stains. The bronze sleigh has tarnishing, some small areas of discoloration, especially along interior. There is residual polish collected in the recessed areas of the work. Some dirt and dust collected in recessed areas as well. The item opens smoothly on its hinges. There are some small chips and losses to the edges of the malachite base. Some small areas of discoloration throughout. To the underside of the base there is residual paper affixed. There are two holes drilled through the base where the sled is affixed. There are four felt tabs, one in each corner of the base.

Mounted to a malachite base.Provenance: Property from the distinguished collection of Mr. James Lee Soffer, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.Height: 2 1/2 in x width: 4 1/2 in x depth: 3 1/4 in.Condition: The clear quartz has natural breaks throughout, many of which are likely original to the artistic production, however, it is impossible to tell if they are natural breaks due to the nature of the material. The bronze sleigh has some light tarnishing and wear. Dirt and dust have collected in the recessed areas. There are four minute chips along the edges of the base. Along the underside there is a green, felt-like material affixed the base; areas of this material have losses.

Virginio Ferrari (Italian, b. 1937). Large bronze sculpture titled "Sphere" depicting an orb floating gracefully above a rectangular plinth, 1977. The plinth has a semi-circular divot along the top, which combined with the floating orb, makes it appear as though the sphere has just lifted upwards into the air. The sphere is suspended above the plinth with a thin wire.Base; height: 36 in x width: 24 in x depth: 24 in. Sphere; diameter: 8 1/4 in. Gross weight: In excess of 200 lbs; the sphere weighs 12 lbs.Condition: Wear throughout consistent with display and use. There are several large scuffs along one side; smaller scuffs/scratches throughout. Some areas of discoloration to the metal. The wire holding the sphere aloft has been cut.

With a previous appraisal.Height: 14 in x width: 7 in x depth: 4 in.Condition: No visible dents, cracks, or losses. No visible sign of restoration under UV light. Light oxidation to metal components as expected. Dust collected to the surface and recessed areas. All fingers and horns are firmly attached. Throughout the statue, there are several areas that show uneven coloration; however, it appears to be original. Along the stone base, it is difficult to discern whether the accretions along the sides are original or not; however, it seems reasonable to say that it is original given that the accretions are consistently visible throughout the stand. Light wear along the underside, consistent with age.

European ram's horn sled with remarkable ram horns details fitted with bronze or brass end caps. These sleds are sometimes known as gasslschlitten.Height: 16 in x width: 33 in x depth: 16 in.Condition: The sled is structurally sound and stable. There is wear throughout the sled consistent with age. All pieces are firmly attached. Along the top of the sled there are two major splits to the wood and there are three smaller splits. There are scratches and wear throughout. The round dowel along the front of the sled appears to have been replaced, there is a small restoration where one end of the dowel attaches to the frame. All metal components are tarnished and show wear, consistent with age and use. To one of the large horns on the front of the sled, there is one large fracture near the tip. To the other horn there is a large repaired crack that has nailed together near the base. To the smaller horns there are cracks and splits throughout.
