Thomas studied first in his father's studio and then at the modelling school of the Royal Dublin Society from 1842. He exhibited at the Royal Hibernian Academy for over fifty years and was elected its President in 1893. Farrell was responsible for many public statues in Dublin, including a bronze statue of Sir Arthur in 1891, placed at St Stephen’s Green, Dublin, on which this appears to be based.Condition ReportCrack to the back. Plinth with chips to top and base edges.
