A bronze group of Mazeppa on a horse, mounted on a polished granite stand, possibly a maquette for a larger sculpure, 22in (56cm) h, 19in (48cm) w. Mazeppa is an epic poem by Lord Byron, the epnoymous hero is tied to a back of a horse after involvement with the wife of a gentleman. He later becomes the Prince of Ukraine.
