MIGUEL BERROCAL (Villanueva de Algaidas, Málaga, 1933 - Antequera, Málaga, 2006)."Suite Almogávares", 1988.Folder composed of 6 engravings, copy 30/100.Hand signed and numbered.Measurements: 56 x 76 cm.Berrocal began his training at the School of Arts and Crafts in Madrid, as a pupil of Ángel Ferrant. He then went on to the San Fernando School of Fine Arts, where he was a pupil of Ramón Stolz. He complemented his training with work as a draughtsman in the studio of the architect Casto Fernández Shaw and as an assistant to various architects in Rome between 1952 and 1954. During his stay in Paris in 1955, he finally decided to devote himself to sculpture. His first works show the influence of Chillida, while at the same time denoting his preference for articulated and detachable forms in bronze. The difficulty involved in making each of his sculptures led him to decide to produce them in series. With this idea in mind, he produced two hundred copies of the sculpture "Maria de la O", for which he received the prize for sculpture at the Paris Biennale and which was later acquired by the MOMA in New York. In 1966 he settled permanently in Verona, and from 1968 he alternated his work between monumental and small-scale works. Together with several gallery owners, he founded the Società Multicétera, the first industry of small sculptures. He has exhibited in Italy, France, Germany, Spain and the United States, received the gold medal of the Bronze of Padua, the Grand Prize of Honour at the Brazil Biennial, and was named Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French government. He has sculptures in public places in Korea, Bordeaux, Denmark and Switzerland, as well as in various places in Spain. He is represented in the Museums of Modern Art in New York and Paris, the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, the Kunsthalle in Hamburg, the Juan March Foundation in Madrid, the National Gallery in Rome and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.

ANTONI CLAVÉ I SANMARTÍ (Barcelona, 1913 - Saint Tropez, France, 2005)."Le guettur", 1962.Patinated bronze, copy E.A.Signed and justified on the right side.Wooden base.Bibliography: Pierre Seghers "Clavé" Ed. Polígrafa, Barcelona 1971, reprod pg 173. Lluis Permanyer, "Clavé escultor", Ed. Polígrafa, Barcelona 1989, reprod pg 76-77.Size: 15,5 x 7,5 x 8 cm. + 8 cm. base.Antoni Clavé is one of the most important figures in Spanish contemporary art. Trained at the San Jordi School of Fine Arts in Barcelona, Clavé first devoted himself to advertising graphics, illustration and decorative arts. In 1936 he took an active part in the Civil War, joining the Republican ranks, which led him to go into exile in France at the end of the war. That same year, 1939, he exhibited the drawings he had made on the battlefields. He settled in Paris, where he met Vuillard, Bonnard and Picasso. He already enjoyed great international prestige at the time when he began to be recognised in Spain, with his exhibition at the Sala Gaspar in Barcelona in 1956. At the same time he produced illustrations for the work "Gargantua and Pantagruel", which led him to become familiar with medieval iconography. It was in the 1950s that he began his intense work in the world of ballet and theatre, achieving great fame in the world of international stage design. In 1952 he made the sets for the film "Hans Christian Andersen", by Charles Vidor, and was nominated for an Oscar award. In 1954 he abandoned set design to devote himself to painting. He was awarded prizes at the Hallimark in New York in 1948, at the Venice Biennale in 1954 and at the Tokyo International Biennale in 1957. In 1984 the Spanish state recognised his artistic value with the exhibition of more than one hundred of his works in the Spanish pavilion at the Venice Biennale. That same year he was awarded the Gold Medal of the Generalitat de Catalunya. Clavé's work can be found, among many others, in the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum, the Tate Gallery, the Museum of Modern Art in Paris, the British Museum in London, the Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo and the Reina Sofía Museum in Madrid.

RICHARD MACDONALD (USA,1946)."Season. Royal Ballet Series, London.Patinated bronze, copy 1/55.Signed and justified on the base.Measurements: 71,5 x 40 cm, 5 cm. base.Richard MacDonald, based in California, is known for his bronze sculptures and his association with Cirque Du Soleil. Trained in painting and illustration at the Art Center College of Design, MacDonald was successful as a commercial illustrator until a fire destroyed his studio in the late 1930s, along with the accumulated works of his career as a painter and illustrator. He then began sculpting in earnest and within ten years became one of the most widely collected figurative sculptors in the United States today. His work has been acquired for the permanent collections of companies such as AT&T, IBM and Anheuser-Busch, as well as notable private collections. His work has been described as "a tribute to the eloquence of the human form". He is an advocate of neorealism and figurative art, and has encouraged emerging and professional artists through annual international masters' workshops. For the 1996 Olympics, MacDonald created The Flair, a 26-foot-tall sculpture of a gymnast. As with all the monuments he has created, MacDonald designed the plaza on which The Flair sits, including a large reflecting pool and fountain. MacDonald has begun work on The Grand Coda, a memorial to Dame Ninette de Valois, founder of the Royal Ballet and the Royal Ballet School. The monument will be installed at White Lodge in Richmond Park, London, England, a historic royal retreat now home to the Royal Ballet School. This work in progress is currently being developed in the artist's studios in California and London.

JULIO GONZÁLEZ PELLICER (Barcelona, 1876 - Arcueil, France, 1942)."Le bain", 1920.Pastel and charcoal on paper.Work certified on the back by Roberta González, daughter of the artist.Size: 24 x 16 cm; 42 x 34 cm (frame).Julio González is not only considered an important figure in the artistic panorama of the 20th century for his iron sculptures, but also for his excellent, although less known, facet as a draughtsman. González's drawings are inspired by the work of Pablo Picasso due to the relationship he had with the painter from Malaga, a collaboration that began in 1928 and culminated in the execution in wrought bronze of the sculpture "Femme au jardin". Thanks to his drawings it is possible to delve into the exciting world of González, with female figures captured with enormous skill and delicacy, or with the sketches prior to his iron sculptures, which demonstrate his exceptional and unlimited artistic capacity.Julio González was born into a family of goldsmiths, learning the trade as a child. He later studied Fine Arts at La Lonja in Barcelona. In 1900 he went with his family to Paris, where he frequented the artistic circles and was in contact with Picasso, Gargallo and Brancusi, among others. Around 1910 he began to work on embossed metal masks in a style marked by naturalistic and symbolist features and by a new conception of the human figure, with synthesised volumes and lines. During these years González began to take part in the Parisian salons, particularly the Autumn Salon, the Salon des Indépendants and the Salon of the National Society of Fine Arts. In 1920 he opened his own forge and two years later made his individual debut at the Povolovsky gallery in Paris. At the end of the 1920s he began to develop his first sculptures in wrought iron, a material that until then had been considered merely decorative. During the 1930s his work became more abstract and the first spatial constructions appeared. After a long list of participations in solo and group exhibitions such as the Spanish Art exhibition at the Jeu de Paume Museum (1936) and the Spanish Pavilion at the Universal Exhibition in Paris (1937), at the outbreak of the Second World War his work, as a result of the shortage of iron, focused on a new material, plaster, and on drawings with war themes. González is represented at the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, the Reina Sofía in Madrid, the IVAM in Valencia and the MoMA in New York, among many others.
