Bronze-FächerknaufschwertSüdwest-Iran, Luristan, ca. 800 - 1000 v. Chr. Wohl im Überfangguss mit der Klinge verbundenes Griffstück mit halbmondförmigem, hohlem Fächerknauf, derselbe mit einseitigem Ausbruch. Das Füllmaterial, ursprünglich wohl Alabaster oder Bein fehlt. Die zylindrische Hilze ist mit vier Doppelzierwülsten versehen, das blockförmige Parierelement schmaler als der Knauf. Zweischneidige Klinge mit Mittelspitze (L 47,8 cm). Die ortnahe Hälfte mit akzentuiertem Mittelgrat und konkav geschliffenen Flächen, die Stärke mit akzentuiert erhabener, bis zwei cm breiter Mittelschiene. Die Schneide weist keine Gebrauchsspuren, die Waffe insgesamt eine sehr gute Patina mit Resten einer ursprünglich spiegelblank polierten Oberfläche auf. L 62,3 cm. Verschiedene Klingenquerschnitte und Umrisse der sog. Luristan-Dolche und Kurzschwerter aus Bronze nehmen solche an Blankwaffen der Renaissance vorweg. Komplexere Klingenquerschnitte an Stahlklingen wurden in erster Linie durch Fortschritte in der Schleiftechnik ermöglicht.

VierkantkeuleChina, 19. Jh. Seltene chinesische Schlagwaffe aus massiver Bronze/Messing mit rhombischem Querschnitt. Das Schlagstück (L 59 cm) entspringt aus dem Maul eines Drachenkopfs mit Stielaugen und ist mit einer einzelnen Wolken-/Blütendarstellung graviert. Die bauchige Rundhilze aus Holz ist von zwei Messingzwingen eingefasst und wird vom Schlagstück durch ein Vierpass-Stichblatt getrennt. L 75,5 cm.
