Bronzefigur des Dionysos (sog. "Narziss von Pompeji"), Ende 19. Jh./ Anfang 20. Jh., Bronze patiniert, auf rotem, rundem Marmorsockel unfachmännisch fixiert, Bronzeguss nach einem römisch-flavischen Original nach helenistischem Vorbild, 1862 in Pompeji ausgegraben (H. der Originalfigur im Nationalmuseum Neapel: 63 cm), die Statue zeigt im Orignal einen Jüngling, der bis auf das um die linke Schulter gehängte Tierfell (Nebris), einen Efeukranz im Haar und Schnürstiefel nackt ist. Sein Blick ist nach rechts unten gerichtet, die rechte Hand mit ausgestrecktem Zeigefinger etwas erhoben. Körperformen und Kleidungsattribute verweisen auf Dionysos, auch seine Tätigkeit läßt sich nach Vergleichen erschließen: er spielt mit dem rechts zu ergänzenden Panther, seinem wichtigsten Begleittier. Die konventionelle Benennung "Narziss" geht von der Vorstellung aus, der Jüngling betrachte sein Spiegelbild im Wasser einer Quelle. Die hiersige Figur zeigt kleine Abweichungen: Den Scham bedeckt ein Blatt, der Kranz besteht aus Weintrauben und der Zeigefinger ist zum Daumen eingeklappt. H. gesamt: ca. 32,5 cm, leichte Alters- und Gebrauchsspuren.
