Great War Memorial Plaque Officer 8th Battalion Hampshire Regiment Killed in Action Gallipoli 1915, the bronze memorial plaque was awarded to William Bertram Bartlett. Some verdigris to the bronze. Marked on the reverse with the makers mark. 2nd Lieutenant William Bertram Bartlett was killed in action with the 8th Battalion (Princess Beatrice Own Isle of Wight Rifles) Hampshire Regiment on 18th August 1915. He is commemorated on the Helles Memorial. See lot – for other items relating to the Bartlett Family.
British Officers Medal Group 9th Battalion Royal Fusiliers Killed in Action 5th April 1918, the group consists of British War & Allied Victory medals named to “2.LIEUT F MASTERTON” and bronze memorial plaque named to “FRANK MASTERTON”. Medals are complete with ribbons and housed in card issue box. Accompanying the medals is some original period paperwork including War Graves Commission card with photograph of his grave, Royal Fusiliers Christmas cards, memorial card. The most poignant item in the group is a letter sent by his commanding officer to 2nd Lieutenant Mastertons wife informing her that her husband had been killed, the letter is dated 8th April 1918. ** Frank Masterton enlisted as a private in the Royal Fusiliers in 1898, he served in various depots with different battalions. He rose to the rank of Warrant Officer II and Company Sergeant Major before gaining a regular commission in January 1918. He served on the Western Front from the 15th March 1917. He was killed in action during the battle of Ancre. He is buried at the Bouzincourt Ridge Cemetery, Albert.
WW1 British Officers Peaked Cap complete with officer bronze cap badge of the Royal Fusiliers. Typical 1917 /1918 period construction and look to the cap. Thin brown leather strap supported by regimental side buttons. Quilted interior lining with brown leather sweatband. Cap has some staining from service wear to the interior.
Royal Corps of Signals Officers Headdress group consisting of officers service dress cap with officers bronze regimental cap badge to the front, leather chinstrap and regimental side buttons. Interior of the cap has the original sweatband and lining with Edinburgh tailors label. Period field repair to the sweatband. Accompanying the cap is the officers 1943 dated bush hat which has Bakelite regimental cap badge fitted to the front. Sweatband has size and date stamped. Original chinstrap still fitted. Both remain in good overall condition. (2 items)
Great War Royal Fusiliers Officers Cuff Rank Tunic complete with bronze officers collar badges. Brass regimental buttons to the front and pockets (two pocket buttons missing). Rank pips to the cuffs for Captain. To the breast are medal ribbons for Queens and Kings South Africa medals for Boer War service. Interior of the tunic has tailors label with inked name and date 1914, the name is not easy to make out. Some light service wear and staining to the tunic but generally a good example.
WW2 British Royal Sussex Regiment Officers Tunics consisting of private purchase 1937 pattern Battle Dress complete with embroidered regimental shoulder titles to the arm and red backed Majors rank crown to the shoulders. Breast has medal ribbons for 1939-45 star, Burma star, Defence medal, 1939-45 war medal and Territorial Decoration. Private purchase interior lining to the Battle Dress. Accompanying the BD is his officers service dress tunic with bronze regimental collar badges and brass regimental buttons. Service dress has the same medal ribbons as the battle dress. Some minor moth nips to the BD but the service dress remains in very good overall condition. (2 items).
Infantry Assault Combat Badge bronze grade, marked L/56 on the reverse for Funcke & Bruninghaus. Complete with the pin fixing but no catch to the reverse. Accompanied by a bronze grade SA sports badge, Black grade wound badge (missing all of its paint), 2x War Service medals without ribbons and a rusted 1914-18 honour cross with swords. (6 items)

A mid 19th century French ormolu and patinated bronze portico clock garniture, the clock set with a Roman and Arabic enamelled dial and having an eight-day cylinder movement, striking bell, signed 'Vincenti', within an architectural portico case, gilt metal mounted and flanked by a pair of six light candelabrum of architectural form.
