Consisting of over a hundred pieces of silverware, as well as gold coins and jewellery, it is now held mostly at the Louvre Museum in Paris, with other parts of the hoard held at the British Museum

A court scene with Ladies and Gentlemen with carriages in exquisite interior ballroom Additional information: Provenance: Private Collection Jean-Paul Sinibaldi was born in Paris May 17 1857. He was a pupil of Alexandre Cabanel at the Academy of Fine Arts in Paris and the famous Belgian academic painter Alfred Stevens. He exhibited regularly at the Salon of French Artists, primarily genre scenes and historical subjects. In 1886 he won the second Prix de Rome. He received an Honourable Mention in 1898. In 1888, thanks to his ‘Daughter of Rajahs’ he received a travel grant enabling him to study painting in Italy. He was honoured with a bronze medal at the Exposition Universelle of 1889 and a silver medal at the 1900. He was also named Chevalier of the Legion of Honour in 1900. NO RESERVE
