A glazed collection of three World War I medals to include the 1914-15 Star inscribed "2. Lieut. H.C.Hammersley.S.GDS", together with the British War medal inscribed "Capt H.C. Hammersley and the Victory medal complete with bronze oak leaf inscribed "D. Hammersley.V.A.D" CONDITION REPORTS General wear and dirt, and some small knocks, but generally appear to be in reasonably good condition. Please Note: original catalogue description should have read " ...1914-15 Star inscribed "2. Lieut. H C Hammersley S.GDS" ...."

A 19th Century brass finger tip thimble (dredged from the River Thames), a 19th Century coated base metal child's workhouse thimble, a late 15th Century bronze thimble (found during a dig on a site of a medieval house in Cambridge), a Charles I bronze thimble (found in a casket dredged from the River Thames - all contents found therein of the same period) and a small brass thimble, possibly a game marker. CONDITION REPORTS Finger tip thimble very worn and with some mis-shaping, splits and losses to edges plus hole to top. Other thimbles with various dents, wear and mis-shaping, and some splits and losses.
