A 19th Century brass finger tip thimble (dredged from the River Thames), a 19th Century coated base metal child's workhouse thimble, a late 15th Century bronze thimble (found during a dig on a site of a medieval house in Cambridge), a Charles I bronze thimble (found in a casket dredged from the River Thames - all contents found therein of the same period) and a small brass thimble, possibly a game marker. CONDITION REPORTS Finger tip thimble very worn and with some mis-shaping, splits and losses to edges plus hole to top. Other thimbles with various dents, wear and mis-shaping, and some splits and losses.
Of Motor Cycling interest: A collection of 9ct gold, silver and other medals, all presented to Harold Davies from The Motor Cycling Club, Essex Motor Club, Auto Cycling Union, twelve in a presentation case, together with one in Spencer & Co box, also in the lot a 9ct gold Royal Artillery sweet heart brooch, a silver medal, a St Olaves Musical Association medal and a Special Constabulary medal (20) several medals presented for Lands End to London, we believe six medals to be 9ct gold and five to be silver, the others bronze and base metals
