WIZARD OF OZ THE: A large colour 21.5 x 34 poster for The Wizard of Oz individually signed by nine actors and actresses who portrayed Munchkins in the film, comprising Jerry Maren, Nels Nelson, Betty Tanner, Lewis Croft, Mickey Carroll, Margaret Pellegrini, Karl Slover, Meinhardt Raabe and Clarence Swensen. Each have signed their names alone in various coloured inks, all to clear areas. Limited Edition number 912/1000. Geoffrey Clarke (British, b.1924) Pyramus and Thisbe, 1985 impressed monogram, from an edition of 38 bronze cast by Wolverhampton Polytechnic (The Medal 7, 1985) 9cm diameter. Provenance: with The Fine Art Society, London. Geoffrey Clarke`s sculpture Pyramus and Thisbe was shown at the Royal Academy`s Summer Exhibition in 1985 and this edition was commissioned by the British Medal Society.
Vivien Ap Rhys Pryce (British, 20th Century) Dancers a pair of bronze figures impressed mark 16.5cm and 13cm high (2). Vivien Ap Rhys Pryce trained at the City & Guilds of London Art School. In 1964 she won the Feodora Gleichen Award, given by the Royal Society of British Sculptors and became an associate member of the Society in 1965, before being elected a fellow member in 1972. She held assistant lectureships at the City & Guilds of London Art School (1964-74), Twickenham College of Art (1970-72) and exhibited widely including at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions as early as 1959. Commissions included portrait sculptures for Madame Tussaud`s, London.
