A lead statue by the Bromsgrove Guild - A fountain head, the sculpture depicting a semi naked classical boy clasping a conger eel in a standing pose and clad in loose drapes to a circular base, stamped to the reverse `Bromsgrove Guild Worcestershire`, 131cm high The Bromsgrove Guild (1898-1966) was founded by Walter Gilbert based on the principles of the Arts and Crafts movement. The guild worked in a variety of mediums, bronze, lead, glass, wood and textiles employing highly skilled craftsmen and made famous for making the main gates at Buckingham Palace. Originally located at the Croft, Bridgnorth Road, Wollaston,Stourbridge, West Midlands. The house was built during 1916/17 and probably demolished during the late 1990`s. The statue is now consigned for sale by the son of one of the Crofts former owners.
