Joseph Stalin cast bronze death mask & hands, mask diameter 31cm x 22cm approx. together with a related plaque, reads 'Sztalin-Vasmu, 1851 November 2, Elso Ontesebol', diameter 19.5cm x 13cm approx. (USSR CCCP communist). Provenance: These items came from a former Eastern European Communist Country. Its believed that only 12 of these casts were done.
An unusual French ormolu mantle clock, circa late 19th Century, depicting a bull (possibly bronze), on a gilt base surrounded by wildlife, bull with saddle to back mounted with an ornately decorated drum shape cased dial, enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, dial diameter 6cm approx., movement numbered '1603', key present, height 22.5cm approx.
Allan Morgan (British, born 1952)/Coast/oil on canvas, 79cm x 79cm/and five other large paintings by the same Condition Report: The named painting in this group, Coast, is in a bronze effect metallic frame. The five additional paintings are framed uniformly with washed wood effect inner frame surrounded by a brushed chrome effect frame. All frames bear small marks, dents or rust spots (only visible under close inspection) but the canvases appear in good clean and bright condition throughout. A MIXED LOT:- A Victorian small dish or ashtray embossed to resemble a face, by Louis Dee, London 1880, a late Victorian card case with an inscription relating to the "Lawn Tennis Club...1900", (fitted case), two small boxes, a plaid brooch and bronze medal "Wembley Torchlight Tattoo 1925" (fitted case); the medal 1.5" (3.8 cms) diameter; 6 oz weighable silver (6)
Delettrez a Paris, a bronze and ormolu mantel clock: the eight-day duration movement striking the hours and half-hours on a bell with an outside countwheel and having Brocot regulation to the pendulum, the backplate stamped Delettrez, Paris, the round white enamel dial having black Roman numerals, blued steel hands and with a repeat of the signature below VI o'clock, the bronze case profusely decorated with ormolu mounts to the front and edges and standing on a richly decorated ormolu base, surmounted by a bronze figure probably depicting the 17th century French playwright, poet and actor, Jean-Baptiste Poquelin better known by his stage name, Molière, seated in a thoughtful pose whilst writing, height 53cms.* Biography Jean-Antoine Delettrez was a well-known Parisian clockmaker, working from 1851 in partnership with Achille Brocot, son of the maker Louis-Gabriel, at rue Charlot 62 and with whom he continued the development the Brocot form of pendulum adjustment for regulation of timekeeping first developed by Brocot père and for which they were awarded a medal at the Paris Exposition of 1855. Following the death of Achille Brocot in 1878, Delettrez continued alone and died in May 1887.
An English Georgian bronze and ormolu mantel clock in the form of Atlas: the eight-day duration, timepiece single-fusee movement having an anchor escapement, with the pendulum bob affixed with a plaque depicting a female head, the round white enamel convex dial having black Roman numerals, with blued steel moon hands and a cast gilded bezel of floral decoration, all being held on the shoulders of a bronze depiction of the God Atlas, standing on a square bronze base with ormolu mounts to the sides and a further ormolu mount to the front depicting an eagle within a wreath, with acanthus-leaf mounts to the plinth, height 35cms.
An antique gilt bronze posy ring: moulded with a continuous series of domes and beads engraved inside, 'LOVE GOD ONLIE', broken, together with a Victorian gold ring with internal inscription 'M.A.Williams married 25th December 1847' and later added heart-shaped motif and a similar silver ring.
A Chinese bronze tripod censer: of squat circular form, with swept handles, bears four character mark within a dragon border, 16.5cm. diameter; a similar censer, bears sixteen character mark to the base, 13.5cm. diameter; and small censer, bears six character mark to the base, 7.5cm. diameter. (3).
Franz Bergman, a 19th century Austrian cold painted bronze group of a tiger hunt: the Arab astride an elephant with a dead tiger strapped behind, with walking attendant below, stamped to the underside with Bergman vase stamp, 'Geschutzt' stamp and numbered 3412, vase stamp and model no. also stamped to the saddle blanket, 23.5cm. high, together with two Arab boys with donkeys each bearing Bergman vase stamp, each 14cm. high (3).
