After Robert Bousquet, (1888-1917) - Cast bronze figure of a German Shepherd (Alsatian) dog, modelled standing, signed in the cast to the naturalistic base, 44.5cm nose to tail x 36cm highListed animal sculptor, born in Paris, died in combat during the First World War. Pupil of Navelier, he exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1912 to 1914.

Late 19th Century silvered bronze female bust by Maison Marnyhac, Paris, on socle base, the reverse marked 'MAISON MARNYHAC, 1 Rue de la Paix, raised on specimen marble pedestal, 23cm high overallMaison Marnyhac, the commercial name for la Société des Marbres et Bronzes Artistiques de Paris, was established under the direction of Charles de Marnyhac in Paris in the mid-19th Century, firstly at Avenue de l'Opéra then Rue de la Paix; it closed in circa 1910. The company also opened a magnificent gallery at 163 to 165 Regent Street in 1875, which was frequented by the English aristocracy. They specialised in the creation of objets de luxe and their repertoire was extensive incorporating 'tous les styles et toutes les epoques’, Pompeian, Chinese and 'Japonisme'.The bronze is showing tarnish and wear mainly on the base, back, and sides. There is also a build-up of old polish on the hair and back of her head. The pedestal doesn’t look to be original, possibly made by a crafter as you can see gaps and glue residue and there are chips and losses on all sections.
