Marina Morelli (Italian, 19th Century) A Maiden holding a pet lamb signed and dated lower left "Marina Morelli 1839" oil on canvas, oval 78 x 63cm (30 x 25in) Oil on canvas which has been lined. There are old tears in the canvas which have been stabilised by lining. The fill in these areas is slightly uneven and the retouching is discoloured. There are other areas of retouching across the surface. The paint layer is worn and abraded in some areas. The varnish is semi-matte and slightly yellowed but acceptable. Underdrawing is visible through the paint layers around the sitter's features and outlined. The gilding on the frame has been covered with bronze paint, there are a few chips and losses but it is sound overall.

Johannes Bosschaert (Dutch, 1606-1629) A stone urn on steps decorated with flowers and fruit beside a dolphin- headed spouting fountain in an extensive landscape signed lower right "J. Bosschaert" (strengthened) oil on canvas 127 x 180cm (50 x 70in) Provenance: Mawley Hall, Shropshire Oil on canvas which has been lined. There are minor undulations across the canvas although it is generally in plane. The paint layers has localised areas of cupping and raised paint. There are small scattered losses across the surface. There is overpaint in many areas, in the darker paint passages this has been handled in a wholesale manner and has darkened. The varnish us slightly yellowed but semi-glossy. The frame has suffered from extensive losses to the gilding and appears to have been repainted with bronze paint.
