At the age of twenty-one, he earned the respect of New York's artistic society by creating a work for the United Nations, a work that gave him the impetus to star in the much-lauded Absolut Vodka advertising campaign, for which the world's most acclaimed artists are selected. Quinn has held exhibitions on five continents, and his work is present at major art fairs around the world. He has also created several public works, in cities such as London, Birmingham and Sant Climent de Llobregat (Barcelona). The Italian company SIMON produced the present prototype table with thirteen feet impressed upon the tabletop, but due to high production costs this planned mass-produced version was never executed. Instead, SIMON produced a cheaper version with only two feet impressed upon the tabletop. The production of the present table was not commissioned by Oppenheim; but it was a prototype produced by SIMON in order to present to Oppenheim the possibility of creating a mass-produced version of her art.
