Medals and paperwork to 144627 T/Lt Col Patrick Maitland Wilson Rifle Brigade, 2nd Baron Wilson of Libya and Stowlangtoft. Born 1915, Died 2009. Succeeded to the title of 2nd Baron Wilson in 1964 on the death of his father Field Marshal Henry Maitland Wilson. Born Frimley, Surrey. Unfit for Army service in 1939 he reapplied for service in 1940 gaining the position of Honorary Attaché at Cairo May 1940. Mentioned In Despatches 5th August 1943, served as an Intelligence Officer in the Middle East, Mediterranean, France and Germany. The lot includes many original documents including MID Certificate, Security Passes, Officers Release Book, Passport, etc, etc. Medal box of issue (top damaged). Copy of a book written by Lord Wilson `Where The Nazis Came` pub 2002. Various Officers badges, named sewing kit, etc. Medals - Baronets Badge (silver gilt) named Wilson of Libya 1965, 1939-45 Star, Africa Star, Italy Star, France & Germany Star, War Medal + MID, Greek Medal for Outstanding Acts 1940, and US Bronze Star. A superb lot ideal for further research. (8)
Sarawak Proof Set 1870 (4 coins). This set would originally have contained 6 coins: Two sets of the Rajah C. Brooke bronze One Cent, Half Cent and Quarter Cent, but is missing one Half Cent and one Quarter Cent. Grades toned nFDC, it comes with the original case, which must be a very rare thing itself. It is interesting to note that the 1870 proof Half Cent is not listed in Krause (unless updated)

Interesting ancient coin mix, Augustus colonial bronze, reverse:- Two priests ploughing with oxen, NVF, worn piece which looks countermarked behind bust, P, early Roman as, bust left NF/P, an Augustus as from the `moneyer series`, F/P, a follis reverse Genius F, an ant. of Aurelian F, a barbabrous radiate F, 4 x bronze minors P to F, a nummus of the Vandals F, a European copper and lastly a Henry VII silver penny as Spink 2228 with ragged flan but clear portrait of the king, dull VF [14]
