A Pair of 17th Century Bronze Candlesticks converted to lamps. The sockets above knopped baluster stems leading down to a low hexagonal drip trays cast with winged angel heads, above flared octagonal bases raised on small feet, 12 ins (31 cms) in height, wired for electric 16 ins (41 cms) overall height.
A Rare & Important 17th Century Oak & Tortoiseshell Month Running Long Case Clock. The 10½ ins (27 cms) brass dial having a silvered chapter ring engraved with Roman numerals counting the hours and an outer ring of Arabic minute markers, encircling a matted centre with subsidiary seconds ring and ornate pierced hands centred by rosette engraving. The base of the dial having a moon roller above inscribed banner 'Johannes van Cuelen Hage' flanked by a calendar ring on one side and day of the week on the other (Johannes van Cuelen, The Hague; A founding member of The Hague Clockmakers Guild, Circa 1688). The tortoiseshell veneered hood with architectural pediment surmounted by gilt bronze figures and adornments, edged in ebony moulding. The oak trunk with moulded strapwork fashioned into voluted scrolls and incorporating panels of tortoiseshell and ebony with a glazed oval aperture to the centre. Standing on a moulded base with ball feet, 91 ins (231 cm) high.[Provenance: Ex Count Limburg-Stirum].
