Moreau, France, and depicting a country maiden leaning against a rock feeding chickens, standing on a pink variegated marble base with a gilt-metal mount to the front and standing on matching feet, height 42cms.* Biography Hippolyte-François Moreau, 1832-1927, was the son of Auguste Moreau who was born in Dijon, who in turn was the son of renowned sculpteur Jean-Baptiste Moreau. The family were prolific in both bronze and spelter with Hippolyte-Francois mainly producing allogories often depicting women in classical and flowing dress, and often working alongside his brother Louis Auguste Moreau.
