A French bronze elephant case mantel clock, second half 19th century, the painted 10.5cm dial signed 'Festeau Le Jne a Paris', surmounted by Cupid, the drum head supported on the back of the elephant, Japy Freres bell striking movement, all upon a naturalistic moulded base, 39.50 x 31cm (15 x 12in) slight bibbling asrounf winding holes. Overall patination dirty. Cupid gilt worn. With pendulum and key. Untested.

Condition report: As the easel is telescopic it is not possible to give a precise height dimension, handles originally fitted to vertical posts now missing from both sides, crank handle for rise and fall mechanism missing.
