A French bronze elephant case mantel clock, second half 19th century, the painted 10.5cm dial signed 'Festeau Le Jne a Paris', surmounted by Cupid, the drum head supported on the back of the elephant, Japy Freres bell striking movement, all upon a naturalistic moulded base, 39.50 x 31cm (15 x 12in) slight bibbling asrounf winding holes. Overall patination dirty. Cupid gilt worn. With pendulum and key. Untested.
Benin bronze warrior, modelled standing holding the remnants of a spear with mask at his side, 34.5cm Ex. Geoffrey Key collection, sold by Peter Wilson Auctioneers on 11th July 2012. Oak framed artists easel labelled Winsor & Newton, London, steel and bronze mechanical screw rise and fall action, articulated castors with wooden wheels, width 91cm (36"), depth 81cm (32"), height approximately 236cm (93"). Condition report: As the easel is telescopic it is not possible to give a precise height dimension, handles originally fitted to vertical posts now missing from both sides, crank handle for rise and fall mechanism missing.
