One of Preiss` s most iconic renditions of the ideal athletic young girl, the subject depicts Miss Nelova from the Rasch Girls and perhaps epitomises the "vitality and fascination" (Shayo) of nightlife of Berlin in Weimer Republic. The model is rarely found with the original extremely thin iridescent glass ball, as on the present example.Fine hairline crack in left thigh, no damage or restoration, retaining all the original patina and requiring only a light clean. An amateur coin collection sold in the whole. Silver and bronze coinage from Georgian to Elizabeth II, as well as an Elizabeth I hammered silver half groat 1570 with wired inner circle. Some foreign silver and bronze coinage, approx 10 kilos of mixed coins, approx 34 g of pre 1947 silver coins, approx 236 g of pre 1920 silver coinage and a small parcel of silver coins, some gradeable from Victoria to 1931 (approx 182g). Also included is a lump of gold ore with accompanying letter explaining it came from South Africa 2700 feet deep dated 1912 and a large piece of smokey quartz.
